Managing Projects

Essence CRM's project management feature helps you organize your work by grouping related tasks and connecting them to relevant contacts. This allows you to maintain clear oversight of your projects while keeping everything linked to the right people.

What are Projects?

Projects in Essence CRM are organizational containers that help you:

  • Group related tasks together for better organization
  • Link work to specific contacts to maintain context
  • Track progress across multiple related activities
  • Maintain project timelines with due dates and status tracking

Creating a Project

Creating a new project costs 1 credit.

To create a project:

  1. Navigate to the Projects section from your dashboard
  2. Click the "Create New Project" button
  3. Fill in the project details:
    • Project Name: A clear, descriptive title
    • Description: Optional detailed description of the project scope
    • Due Date: Optional deadline for project completion
    • Status: Active, On Hold, Completed, or Cancelled
  4. Associate Contacts: Link relevant contacts to provide context
  5. Click "Create Project" to save

Managing Tasks

Tasks are the actionable items within your projects. Each task creation costs 1 credit.

Creating Tasks

  1. Open any project
  2. Click "Add Task" in the Tasks section
  3. Provide task details:
    • Task Title: Clear, specific description
    • Description: Optional additional details
    • Due Date: When the task should be completed
    • Reminder: Optional reminder notification
  4. Click "Add Task (1 credit)" to create

Task Features

  • Status Tracking: Pending, In Progress, Completed
  • Due Date Management: Set and track deadlines
  • Reminders: Get notified when tasks need attention
  • Quick Actions: Edit, complete, or change status easily

Project Organization

Project Statuses

  • Active: Currently working on this project
  • On Hold: Temporarily paused or waiting
  • Completed: Project finished successfully
  • Cancelled: Project discontinued

Connecting Contacts

Projects can be linked to multiple contacts, allowing you to:

  • Track client relationships for each project
  • Maintain context about who's involved
  • Quick access to contact details from project view
  • See project history from contact profiles

  • Creating Projects: 1 credit per project
  • Adding Tasks: 1 credit per task
